DAY 1: Arrive Hoedspruit

Check into the luxurious Bushwillow Private Villa on the gorgeous Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate that’s home to a variety of wildlife including giraffe, zebra, a variety of antelope species and even leopard and hyena! 

Hoedspruit is South Africa’s wildlife and safari capital, with a host of exciting activities, things to see and do and incredible scenery on its doorstep. Located at the foot of the northern Drakensberg Escarpment on the edge of the Kruger National Park, this is the perfect place from which to explore one of South Africa’s most beautiful regions.

Bushwillow Private Villa is an exclusive-use, three-bedroom luxury villa that can sleep six people in absolute comfort. With sumptuous décor and a sensational safari vibe, the inside/outside lounge area enjoys views over the surrounding bush where you can see a variety of wildlife and birds. A small splash pool is perfect for cooling off in and a boma is where you can enjoy sundowners around a crackling fire.

DAY 2: At leisure in Hoedspruit

DAY 3: Full-day guided Kruger National Park safari

You’ll wake up before dawn in time to be collected by your safari guide for the transfer to the Kruger National Park’s Orpen Gate. Your breakfast will be prepared and packed for you to take with you, so that you can enjoy it out in Big Five territory. We will also arrange for a cooler box to be packed for you to take with you with water, drinks of your choice and snacks. 

You’ll be exploring the legendary Kruger National Park – one of Africa’s biggest and best-loved conservation areas that’s filled with a rich variety of wildlife, from the fabled Big Five – elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and lion – to painted wolves (African Wild Dogs), cheetah, giraffe, zebra and a wide variety of antelope.

Your experienced professional safari guide will be showing you some of the most game-roch areas of the Kruger Park in an open safari vehicle which will allow you to experience the thrill of being immersed in the African wilderness. 

You will stop for lunch at Satara Rest Camp where you can stretch your legs and enjoy a light lunch (for your own account) at the camp’s restaurant overlooking the wilderness. You’ll return to Hoedspruit in the late afternoon, with time to spare for sundowners and an evening meal.

DAY 4: At leisure

After a wonderful breakfast it’s up to you how you spend your day. With so much to do and see in Hoedspruit and the surrounding area, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

DAY 5: Full-day Panorama Route tour

After breakfast you’ll be collected by your experienced, professional guide in an air-conditioned luxury vehicle for your full-day tour of the breathtakingly beautiful Panorama Route. 

You’ll drive up the northern Drakensberg Escarpment, via the Abel Erasmus Pass, marvelling at the incredible scenery as you go. Once at the top of the escarpment you’ll be visiting the jaw-dropping Blyde River Canyon – the world’s third-largest green canyon – stopping at strategic viewing points where you can walk and take in the incredible views.

From the Blyde Canyon it’s on to Bourke’s Luck Potholes – a geological anomally where the Treur and Blyde Rivers meet forming enormous potholes in the underlying bedrock which you can explore and learn more about. 

You will then take in some of the spectacular waterfalls in the area and amazing viewpoints before reaching the small town of Graskop on the edge of the escarpment, where you will have the chance to descend to the bottom of the Graskop Gorge at the Graskop Gorge Lift. Enjoy a wonderful lunch at the Gorge Lift restaurant and do some curio shopping as well before heading back to Hoedspruit in the late afternoon.

DAY 6: Time to leave

After a wonderful home-cooked breakfast it’s time to say farewell to Bushwillow Private Villa and Hoedspruit. We hope you’ll come back soon!
